work in progress!

Support: Based on the description made by L. J. Engels "composite (17 codicilli), gatherings (mostly quaternions) often incomplete and showing various prickings and quire signatures (regularly pared off)". These 17 codicilli should include: ff. 1-21, ff. 22-35, ff. 36-57, ff. 58-65, ff. 66-73, ff. 79-92, ff. 93-98, ff. 99-106, ff. 107-22, ff. 123-37, ff. 138-56, ff. 157-64, ff. 165-72, ff. 179-86, ff. 187-200, ff. 201-23. ff. 224-31.

Layout: Two columns with 70-72 lines.

Script: Praegothica

Hands: Written from many hands. In the gathering of Aratus Latinus at least three hands changing on fols. 103vb, 104ra and 104va.

History: Accoring to Horst Schlechte (1934) and Karl Manitius (1955) the manuscript was written at St. Eucharius-Matthias in Trier about the middle or even at the end of the 12th c. — Van de Vyver recognised the hand of Nicholas of Cues on the margins (see bibliography). Hence the manuscript was probably at the St. Nikolaus-Hospital (Cusanusstift) in the 15th c. Between 1657 and 1778 it was in the possession of the Bollandists in Antwerp. Afterwards it was transfered in the Bibliothèque de Bourgogne. In the years 1794-1815 was at the Bibliothèque National in Paris before it was returned to Belgium.
